Company Origin

Antonio ‘Tony’ Fragale Sr. immigrated from Calabria, Italy in 1971, with his parents and siblings at only six years old. Life didn’t start easy for Tony.

Navigating a new country with a new culture and language was challenging. Dyslexia also made academics and school a challenge for Tony, ultimately leading him to drop out in the ninth grade. Along with this, his family came to America with very little. He and his eleven other family members were sharing a three-bedroom and one-bathroom home. Given this, Tony had an obligation to help his family and work at a very young age.

In order to support his family, Tony had begun to work under his father’s wing in landscaping, construction, and masonry. Tony quickly realized that he found a skill that was much more conducive to his learning style. His attention to detail, strong work ethic, and physical strength all motivated him to learn everything he could about this trade. After mastering all of his father’s techniques and skills, he started his very own business at the age of 16 years old.  Despite the financial, social, cultural, and academic challenges Tony faced—he was still able to rise above and found what is now known as ‘Tony Fragale Landscaping & Design.'

Motivated by the dream of success and a better life for he and his family, Tony worked extremely hard and never gave up. His strive for success had paid off… He was the true sentiment of the American dream.
